Since 2010, the Southern BBQ Network (SBN) has sanctioned barbecue tournaments to further their goal of
"Preserving a Southern Tradition".
The SBN has sent competitive cook teams to the World BBQ Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Orlando, Florida. Members have competed on the Food Network, the Travel Channel, and the Discovery Channel.
The SBN is the fastest growing BBQ organization in the Southeast and is dedicated to providing well trained judges to contests that are raising money for a charitable causes in South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina.
The SBN donates annually to such charitable groups as:
Shriners Children’s Hospitals, Berkley Lions club, the Sumter Red Cross, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Dorchester County Community Outreach, The Fisher House of Charleston, and the Summerville Miracle League.
