Smoke on the Waccamaw contest was held in Conway SC on 10/14/23 to benefit the Shriners Childrens Hospital. The BBQ Contest consisted of prizes and trophies awarded in the categories of Pork shoulder, Whole Hog and pork ribs. Backdraft BBQ was named Grand Champion of the event.

The Beer Brunch and BBQ contest was held on James Island to benefit the James Island Outreach program on October 7th, 2023. The BBQ Contest consisted of prizes and trophies awarded in the categories of pork, chicken, pork ribs. Ultimate Tailgaters Cook Team was named Grand Champion of the event. The First Annual Bessemer City Brew and Cue to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Research Foundation was held September 22-23, 2023. The BBQ Contest consisted of prizes and trophies awarded in the categories of pork, chicken, pork ribs. Ultimate Tailgaters Cook Team was named Grand Champion of the event. The 24th Annual Uniquely Union Festival, presented by the Uniquely Union Board was held September 15-16, 2023. The festival once again was held in beautiful and historic downtown Union. The BBQ Contest consisted of over $7000.00 in prizes and trophies awarded in the categories of pork, chicken, pork ribs, anything butt (savory & sweet) and kidz que. The 13th Jamil Shriners 13th Annual BBQ Cook Off was held on 9/9 in Columbia SC to support the Shriners Hospital for Children Transportation Fund. The contest consisted of two categories: Pork Shoulder and Ribs. SBN would like to congratulate Bayou BBQ cook team for their Grand Championship Win.  The 3rd annual Race of the Pines BBQ Contest was held on 5/6 in Pinehurst NC to support the Veterans Golfers Association. SDN would like to congratulate Fu Man Que cook team for his Grand Championship Win.  Southern BBQ Network wrapped up the spring 2023 schedule this past weekend at the “Smoke on the Beach” event at Myrtle Beach, SC. There was lots of folks attending the Friday night anything butt and again on Saturday. Congratulations go out to the Grand Champions, Chris and Kathy Fulmer of Ultimate Tailgaters with Reserve going to Eric Carpenter of “Backdraft BBQ SC”.  For full contest scores please click here.

On April 22, 2023 The City of Newberry SC held the annual Pork in the Park bbq competition. The contest consisted of three meat categories, Pork shoulder, Ribs, and Chicken. SBN would like to congratulate Butts 'R' Us for their Grand Championship Win.
